So I came across this nifty website while browsing TrafficSwarm a few minutes ago... 01viral.com. If you're in the market for some free website traffic, then this is exactly what you need.

I don't know how to explain it exactly, other than it is a banner rotating service that gives you free traffic. Here's how it works:

Are you a web or graphic designer? Blogger? Do you just want to learn more about computers in general? Look no further than Lynda.com.

Lynda.com is a leader in online computer training. You can teach yourself every you ever wanted to know- and then some!- about: Photoshop, blogging, HTML, PHP, Microsoft Office, animation, CSS, email, social networking, color theory, digital photography... and that's just the tip of the iceberg! If you can do it on a computer, Lynda.com probably has an in-depth video series for it.

It's time to shed those pounds!

I've always been overweight, even as a child, and I'm still struggling with it heavily (no pun intended) as an adult. Back in September, my grandmother (mom's mom) passed away. After she passed, I fell into the worst depression I have ever experience in my 25 short years. During this depression, I did nothing but eat and sleep. I think I gained (easily) 50 lbs, if not more. This past weekend, my mom got remarried, and though my depression has virtually disappeared now over the past month or so, I still managed to get upset when I looked back on wedding photos I was in...

Site Review #1: Inbox Dollars

Ahh, Inbox Dollars. What could be sweeter than getting paid to read your emails, fill out surveys and go shopping? Plus, you get $5 just for signing up! That's right, just for signing up for a free account with them, they give you five free dollars!

I originally signed up with Inbox Dollars a couple years ago, but as the months passed and life became more difficult, I lost interest in the site. Now that I am getting my life back on track and headed in a more positive direction, I've gone back to the site. I have a full time job as it, but being a manager at a KFC restaurant doesn't exactly bring in the big bucks, haha. So I went back to Inbox Dollars as a means of making some extra cash until a better job comes along.

There are so many ways to make money from this site... filling out surveys, completing sponsor offers (signing up for a free trial of something and getting money in return), reading your email, shopping... and tons more. I've only been using the site for about 2 weeks, and already raked in $15. I know, that doesn't sound like much, but I'll be honest, I've been putting in minimal effort. The past couple weeks have been SUPER hectic for me, as my mom just got re-married this past weekend. (I'm so happy for her!). Now that the busiest part of my summer is over, I'll be putting in a lot more effort so I can make more money.

That side-rant aside, I do highly suggest checking Inbox Dollars out. What have you got to lose?

Suggested site #1: Project Payday

For those not already in the know, Project Payday is one of the simplest, easiest and fastest ways to make money. If you have never heard of, or visited, this site before, let me explain to you how it works...

The idea behind Project Payday is simple: people pay you for completing referrals for them on different sites. For example, someone wants to win a free laptop or something, but they need to refer 12 people and have them sign up for the offers. They pay you to sign up for them. You can earn as little as $5 and as much as $100 or more, depending on the offer.

You will need to keep tight records, though. Since you are signing up for trial offers, you will want to go back and cancel these offers, unless it's something you wish to keep, such as Netflix or Gamefly.

I highly suggest giving this site a go. The great thing about Project Payday is that you can go as fast or as slow as you want, making as little or as much as you want. It depends how much effort you are willing to put in. If you put in virtually no effort, don't expect a huge payout. If you put all your effort into it, the results will reflect all of your hard work.

I personally earned $150 on my first day. My goal for tomorrow is $250.

Saving tip #1: Start a piggy-bank

Labels: , , , , , ,

Perhaps the most common way to save money to buy- or better yet, make- a piggy bank. What I like to do is take old coffee canisters and cut a small slot in the cover into which I can drop my money. I then stick this by my door (or bed) and when I undress at night, I simply empty any change I have in pockets into my coin jar.

I realize this sounds like one of those "duh!"-type suggestions, but I don't think people do this enough. To save up even more money.. I only spend paper bills. I never spend change. When I use my paper bills and get coins back, I put the coins in my jar, and at the end of the month, I count up all my change. I have an advantage because I then take my change to work (I'm a manager of a KFC restaurant) and I can just switch my change for cash from one of the registers. I can then re-deposit the cash into my bank account for use in paying my bills. I can easily save upwards of $50 every month. I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but for most us $50 really can help with paying lights, phone bill, cable/internet bill, etc.

The reason this works? I'm less likely to spend coins. If you had a pocket with $5 in pennies, nickels and dimes, and a pocket with five $1 bills, which are you more likely to pay with?

A simple introduction...

Good morning, afternoon & evening to everyone! I want to take this time to thank you for reading my blog. I am just starting out with blogging, so please bear with me as I get my feet wet.

The purpose of my blog is to share with my readers the best ways I have discovered to save money, or to quickly make money.

Why should you read my blog? Well, let's be honest... I'm not forcing anybody to read. However, as a college student I have had to find so many ways to make my dollar stretch, and I want to be able to share this with everyone. There are so many "get-rich-quick" type sites out there, and I just want people to know now- this is not one of those sites. I will discuss them, yes, but I am not one of those sites. I simply wish to arm you with advice on how to make the most of your money!

Thank you for reading... and on with my first post!

    About Me

    My photo
I'm rather shy at first, but once you get to know me I'm a pretty open person. I'm honest and don't believe in lying. I'm a dedicated, loyal and hard working individual, and I am just as dedicated and loyal to be lazy! haha I am also a very dedicated and loyal friend; I would do anything for my friends. I wouldn't exactly call myself an optimist, but I do try to look on the bright side of things rather than dwell on the dark side- such as things you have no control over and can't change. I'm also very independent. I prefer a night in with my cat to a night at the bar. It's not that I don't enjoy my friends' company, I'm just not a publicly social person.

    About Blog Soup...

Blog Soup is my own personal blog, very much similar to a 'work at home mom' blog. The only difference is, I'm not a mom, haha. I enjoy meeting and exchanging information with new people.. one of the many reasons I decided to start this blog. I wanted to be able to share my life with the world. Some of the things you can expect to see on blog soup are product reviews, website reviews, tips on getting the most out of your money, freebies and daily cash giveaways- my way of saying 'Thank You!' for being a loyal subscriber.
